Great looking 1970's vintage Police National Institute Of Standards & Technology Corp. (Corporal) HM Blackinton badge. The NIST Police come under the Commerce Department and have facilities in Gaithersburg MD and Boulder CO. Such a rare badge, it's not even found in the Federal Badge book by Ken Lucas. Badge has a piece of wire to keep the pin attatched where the rivet used to be. This badge is no longer used at the NIST and will look great in your collection and for many more days behind glass being displayed.
I also fix and repair findings on badges. From pin joint stems, burgess catches and screwposts and anti-spin pins. I can fix them all. Many collections recently released and broken up contain badges missing findings with 2 holes drilled for mounting purposes. I can plug these holes too. I can outsource gold and silver plating as well but the turn around time is a bit longer. Repairs can usually be done with a 1 week turn around time. Contact me for an estimate.
